When you can’t make it to the thrift store check out this ebay shop. A little more than $5 but a good option for the time-crunched or thrift-store-adverse crowd.

Cats are kind of my thing…well, one of my many things. As are sweaters. I haven’t been able to find an office cat in a sweaters but I have found cats in sweaters and working cats. Cats are the sort of creatures that can make an ugly sweater quite adorable.

Abbey’s adorable outfit above is making me rethink the whole Ugly Office Sweater thing. If you can find a great fall-to-winter jacket that looks that great with your work clothes, maybe you (gasp!) don’t need an Ugly Office Sweater.

Is that crazy talk? Have I been seduced yet again by something beautiful and green?

When I was working on the layout for this blog I posted a status  “Jamie is doing some digital knitting” to one of my social networking sites. Someday I’ll learn how to knit in real life but right now learning xhtml & css is quite enough for my left brain! I’m loving design based on the craft arts right now such as the above album cover for  Tricot Machine. Lovely music to match the design. My classmate, Kindra, posted their incredible video on her blog. By no means is this video ugly, quite the opposite and oh so clever. What gorgeousness can be created with knitting needles and imagination!

Despite the low-fashion clothing, we can still rock the high-fashion attitude.

My argyle sweater was deemed too fashionable at the Ugly Office Sweater Bar Crawl but I assure you the synthetic blend and gaudy gold buttons made it ugly. After doing some internet research I agree my argyle have been accidently on-trend. Or perhaps I have an intuitive fashion sense that is expressed through my St. Vinnie’s/Goodwill finds? That must be it.

Look at Kanye! Ok, admittedly that post is a year old but here in the wintry North of Madison, WI it takes a while for these trends to reach us. We’re far from the bleeding edge of fashion although it seems we catch on quicker when there’s winter wear involved.

I think the difference between a stylish argyle and mine is the quality of materials. Not that one has to follow in Kanye’s Louis Vuitton-clad footsteps: it’s just a matter of opting for natural materials rather than synthetics.  Here’s a nice look for men. Ladies will look lovely in this. The 3/4 length sleeves would be practical for one of those offices where workers do battle over the thermostat leaving cube dwellers to alternately sweat and shiver.
